From September 16th to 19th, 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, in collaboration with NHRDN, Lucknow chapter, celebrated HR Week 2024 with resounding success. This week of dynamic events was spearheaded by Dr. Kumar Lalit (President: NHRDN, Lucknow chapter) and Dr. Nishtha Malik (Associate Professor: HR & OB Area), ensuring that each event was an enriching experience. The meticulous coordination by Mr. Rachit Diwaker (Student Coordinator: Domain Forum Committee - HR) and Ms. Arti Yadav (Senior Member: Domain Forum Committee – HR) was instrumental in the seamless execution of this grand event.
HR Week 2024 was an invaluable platform for participants to showcase their HR prowess. Over the span of four days, first and second-year PGDM students engaged in a variety of stimulating competitions designed to test and enhance their knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, and team-building skills. This confluence of talent and intellect turned out to be an exceptional learning experience, leaving an indelible mark on every participant.
This event not only highlighted the importance of practical exposure in the HR field but also fostered a spirit of camaraderie and collective growth, embodying the true essence of Jaipuria Institute of Management’s commitment to excellence.
Day 1: "Human Resource or Human Remorse"
The week kicked off with an eventful case competition, "Human Resource or Human Remorse” coordinated by Mr. Rachit Diwaker and Ms. Samarpita Mitra. The judges for the event were Dr. Anjali Tiwari (Assistant Professor: HR & OB Area), and Mr. Parvesh Saxena (Vice President, BNK Hospital & Indu Scans). This was a platform for participants to decode a complex HR case study and offer innovative solutions. Teams of four worked against time to present their findings to a panel of judges. The event highlighted participants' critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
Day 2: "Pyramids & Riddles: HR Fiddles"
The second day featured the thrilling event, "Pyramids & Riddles: HR Fiddles" coordinated by Mr. Sagar Shukla and Ms. Riya Kapoor. The event was a combination of physical and mental challenges. Teams of two competed to build a pyramid using paper cups, representing Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Each layer required participants to solve HR-related riddles, which tested their problem-solving skills and HR knowledge. The event was both engaging and educational, bringing together intellect and teamwork.
Day 2 (Evening): "Kahoot Quiz Extravaganza"
The "Kahoot Quiz Extravaganza" coordinated by Mr. Rachit Diwaker, Ms. Arti Yadav and Ms. Samarpita Mitra saw participants competing in a fast-paced online quiz. Questions spanned various topics, from general knowledge to HR trends. Accuracy and speed were key to climbing the leaderboard in this interactive quiz, which was both educational and entertaining.
Day 3: "The Talent Magnet Challenge"
On the third day, participants tackled employer branding challenges in "The Talent Magnet Challenge" coordinated by Mr. Rachit Diwaker and Mr. Divyansh Srivastava. The judges for the event were Ms. Raksha Dubey (FPM Scholar: HR & OB Area) and Ms. Jagriti Gupta (FPM Scholar: HR & OB Area). Teams created an employer brand video that addressed specific employer branding scenarios, followed by a presentation that showcased how their strategy would transform their fictional company into an “Employer of Choice.”
Day 4: "No More Illusions"
The final event, "No More Illusions" coordinated by Mr. Rachit Diwaker and Ms. Arti Yadav and judged by Ms. Raksha Dubey (FPM Scholar: HR & OB Area). The event aimed to debunk common myths related to HR through creative Instagram reels. Teams created 60-second videos that not only entertained but also enlightened audiences about the realities of HR. Participants used humor, creativity, and knowledge to challenge prevailing HR misconceptions.
Day 5: POSH Awareness Workshop
The HR Week culminated with a POSH workshop coordinated by Mr. Rachit Diwaker, Ms. Arti Yadav and Ms. Kirty Jagwani. It was conducted in collaboration with NHRDN, Lucknow chapter and was led by Mr. Abhishek Srivastava, Regional HR Head of TCS Lucknow. The workshop focused on educating students about their legal rights under the POSH Act and promoting gender equality in the academic environment.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Manisha Seth (Joint Secretary, NHRDN Lucknow Chapter and Associate Professor: HR & OB Area) and Dr. Nishtha Malik (Associate Professor: HR & OB Area) who encouraged students to actively participate. Key topics included understanding the Act, reporting harassment, and ensuring timely redressal. The workshop emphasized the importance of creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students at Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow.
