The Alumni Relations Cell of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, hosted an engaging Wisdom from Alumni session on 7th August 2025 with Mr. Anil Kumar, Senior Manager at Bandhan Bank and a proud alumnus from batch of 2012-2014. The session revolved around the evolving role of Human Resources and the vast opportunities it offers in today’s dynamic business landscape.
Mr. Anil began by explaining how Human Resources is no longer just an administrative department but the strategic backbone of organizations, playing a key role in shaping workplace culture, aligning talent with business goals, and ensuring that people remain the strongest asset. He emphasized how HR today acts as a true business partner, driving innovation, decision-making, and organizational resilience.
Moving to emerging trends, he highlighted several areas transforming the HR domain — strategic workforce planning, the integration of HR technology and AI in recruitment and performance management, effective remote and hybrid workforce management, designing meaningful employee experiences, embedding sustainability and ESG values into workplace practices, and navigating the complexities of global talent mobility.
He also spoke about the skills that future HR leaders must cultivate — emotional intelligence, HR tech literacy, data analytics, cross-cultural communication, change management, and strategic problem-solving. At the same time, he candidly addressed the challenges HR professionals face today, such as closing skill gaps, safeguarding employee well-being, balancing automation with human interaction, and managing a diverse, global workforce.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students received practical career advice and valuable insights. As a mark of gratitude, the Alumni Relations Committee presented Mr. Anil Kumar with a memento and the institute’s Green Certificate — part of an eco-conscious initiative where a sapling is planted in Nainital, Uttrakhand in our guest’s honor, with progress trackable via a QR code.
The event left students inspired, informed, and motivated to explore impactful careers in Human Resources, equipped with a clearer understanding of both its opportunities and its challenges.
