Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore
On December 28, 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore, hosted a captivating TEDx event centered on the theme of “Diversity and Inclusion.” The day began with a reverent Saraswati Pooja, symbolizing the quest for wisdom and knowledge, setting the stage for a series of impactful narratives and thought-provoking discussions.
The event featured an inspiring lineup of speakers who shared their remarkable stories and unique perspectives. Jabna Chauhan, renowned as the youngest Sarpanch, narrated her journey of breaking societal norms. She highlighted her progressive reforms, including banning alcohol in public spaces and initiating women empowerment programs in her village, earning her recognition at state and national levels. Her story resonated as a powerful example of grassroots leadership.
Another highlight of the event was Shri Gauri Sawant, a trailblazer for transgender rights. Gauri shared her story of self-acceptance and resilience, emphasizing her tireless work with marginalized communities, including transgender individuals and sex workers. Her journey underscored the importance of embracing gender diversity and striving for equality.
Priyanka Mohite, an accomplished mountaineer and the first Indian woman to scale five peaks above 8,000 meters, inspired the audience with her passion and determination. She spoke of her family’s support and her perseverance in overcoming societal challenges, delivering a powerful message of grit and resilience.
The audience was also captivated by Ajinkya Deshmukh, a celebrated media professional, who spoke on the concept of “slow-burn success.” Through his experiences of conducting over 800 interviews and authoring a book during the pandemic, he emphasized the value of patience, storytelling, and collaboration in achieving meaningful success.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Deepankar Chakrabarti, Director of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore, and Dr. Pooja Darda, Chairperson of the International Relations Committee, whose guidance and support were instrumental in the event’s success. Faculty members, along with students, also participated enthusiastically, adding to the event’s grandeur.
This TEDx event was more than just a platform for sharing ideas—it was a celebration of resilience, the human spirit, and the transformative power of diversity and inclusion. It concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming Jaipuria Institute of Management’s commitment to fostering dialogue, innovation, and inclusivity.
