On 17th September 2025, the Career Management Cell, in collaboration with the Alumni Relations Committee and the International Relations Committee at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, hosted an interactive and insightful session on Practicing Emotional Intelligence in the AI World. The session was delivered by Dr. Ruby Bakshi Khurdi (Award-winning Educationist, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker, and CEO of RBK Academy, Switzerland).
The speaker began by introducing the concept of emotional intelligence (EI) and why it is becoming increasingly essential in an AI-driven world, where human emotions, empathy, and interpersonal skills differentiate individuals from machines. She explained the five core elements of EI - Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, Motivation, Empathy, and Social Skills—and how these traits can enhance leadership, decision-making, and collaboration in both personal and professional life.
Dr. Khurdi stressed that while artificial intelligence can automate tasks and optimize efficiency, it cannot replace the human touch of empathy and connection. She encouraged students to cultivate EI as a life skill to excel in diverse roles, adapt to challenges, and maintain healthy relationships.
To make the session engaging, she incorporated an interactive Kahoot quiz, where students actively participated, tested their knowledge, and reflected on their own levels of emotional intelligence. The quiz created a lively atmosphere, sparking discussions on real-life workplace scenarios and practical strategies to apply EI in daily life.
The session was also graced by the presence of the chairpersons and members of the organizing committees, who appreciated the depth of knowledge shared. Students shared their feedback, highlighting how the session not only enhanced their understanding of EI but also motivated them to practice it consciously in academics, career, and personal growth.
