On 15 December 2025, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow set the stage for its much-awaited annual cultural fest OJAS’25 – Rangtaal: The Indian Carnival of Colours with a vibrant and thoughtfully curated inaugural ceremony. The celebration opened on an auspicious note with the traditional Lighting of the Lamp, followed by the introduction of dignitaries and the presentation of Green Certificates, underscoring the institute’s commitment to sustainability.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by an engaging address from the Chief Guest, Dr. Anil Rastogi, whose words beautifully reflected the harmony between art, science, and human expression. This was followed by an inspiring address from the Guest of Honour, Dr. Kumkum Dhar, Head of Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan, Department of Culture, Uttar Pradesh. Together, their reflections set a deeply meaningful and culturally rich tone for the fest.
The programme unfolded with an energetic Kathak performance that captivated the audience, celebrating India’s classical heritage through rhythm and grace. Tokens of appreciation were presented to the performers, following which the atmosphere transitioned into a soulful musical space with a live singing performance by the band, adding warmth and vibrancy to the evening. A graceful Cultural Ramp Walk by the NGO Innovation for Change further enriched the celebration, reflecting inclusivity and social consciousness at the heart of Rangtaal.
The ceremony drew to a dignified close with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the student SPOCs Ms. Samriddhi Pandey, Mr. Rituraj Praveen, Ms. Vidhi Srivastava, and Mr. Shariq Ansari. This was followed by the formal OJAS Opening by Dr. Rashmi Chaudhary, Dean – Student Affairs, and the singing of the National Anthem, marking a proud and respectful commencement of the two-day fest.
Adding a symbolic flourish to the day, the institute also hosted a Balloon Ceremony, where dignitaries, faculty members, and staff released balloons into the sky, signifying peace, unity, and collective good wishes for the success of OJAS’25.
As evening descended, Day 1 of OJAS’25 transitioned into a celebration of music and youthful energy. The night opened with a soulful Acoustic Evening by Ms. Snehi Gundev, whose emotive vocals created an intimate and immersive musical experience. The celebrations then soared to a crescendo with an electrifying DJ Night, as DJ OnEdge set the campus alive with pulsating beats, bringing Day 1 to a high-energy and unforgettable close.
With colour, culture, and community at its core, the opening day of OJAS’25 – Rangtaal truly lived up to its name, promising an enriching and joyous celebration ahead.
