No Flame, All Flavour at Jaipuria Institute of Management
9th April 25’
In a delightful blend of innovation, creativity, and sustainability, the Alliance of Sustainability (AOS) club at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur, recently hosted “No Flame, All flavour” on 9th April 2025—a unique fireless cooking contest that proved delicious dishes don’t need a flame to shine!
The event was held on campus in a vibrant, welcoming setup and quickly turned into a feast for the senses. The concept was simple yet purposeful: to create delicious dishes without using fire, thereby promoting eco-friendly cooking practices and encouraging innovation. The response was nothing short of extraordinary.
Faculty and staff across departments participated with great enthusiasm, and their creations reflected thought, passion, and a deep understanding of ingredients. Without the use of traditional stoves or heat, they relied on smart combinations, natural flavours, and traditional kitchen wisdom. The spread featured an exciting variety of dishes like detox, fusion salads, wholesome wraps, flavourful dips, and many more things. Every dish had its own story, often inspired by local flavours and sustainable ingredients.
The event focused on more than just cooking—it highlighted conscious consumption. Participants made mindful choices with seasonal produce, locally sourced elements, and waste-free plating. The initiative stood as a reminder that sustainable practices begin at home and can be integrated into our everyday lives without compromising on taste or creativity.
The event was further elevated by the presence of two esteemed Jaipuria alumni, Kishan Jainani and Rishabh Mathur. Kishan, a successful entrepreneur with a passion for the food industry, brought in a wave of inspiration with his journey and deep knowledge of the evolving food landscape. He spoke about the power of innovative thinking and how sustainable ventures are becoming the need of the hour. Rishabh Mathur, Senior Analyst at Deutsche Bank, provided a corporate lens to the theme. He appreciated the creative spark and sustainable ethos of the event and shared insights about how organizations across the globe are moving towards greener, more responsible operations.
Their presence added a special warmth to the day. They interacted with participants, offered feedback, and appreciated the effort, creativity, and thoughtfulness behind each dish. Their words resonated with the audience and served as powerful motivation to continue innovating not just in business or academics, but also in everyday life.
This event wasn’t just a contest. It was a community coming together to celebrate mindful living. It was about learning through doing, blending fun with responsibility, and showing that sustainability isn’t just an idea—it’s a way of life. The contest ended with certificates and special recognitions, but the true reward was the joy on everyone’s faces and the values carried forward.
At Jaipuria, we believe learning can happen anywhere—and on this day, it happened around bowls of salad, cups of fruit punch, and spoons dipped in nutty desserts. Here’s to more such experiences that stir the mind, warm the heart, and nurture the soul. The event was very well coordinated by Ms Shruti Seth, AOS Club Head under the guidance of Dr Varun Chotia, Faculty Chair, AOS Club.
