On August 12, 2025, the Library department of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore under the guidance of Dr. Vinita Atre (Librarian) and with the support of the Programme Management Committee- hosted a special celebration for National Librarians’ Day, honouring the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India.

The event began with an inspiring address by Dr. Deepankar Chakrabarti, Director, who spoke passionately about Dr. Ranganathan’s groundbreaking contributions to establishing Library Science as a discipline. He explained the Colon Classification Scheme and its global impact and also discussed the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system used at the institute’s library. Drawing clever parallels with India’s PIN codes, Aadhaar numbers, and the Mumbai Dabbawala network, Dr. Chakrabarti demonstrated how classification systems enhance efficiency in diverse domains.

The House of Wisdom won the ResourceX Mini Magazine Challenge at National Librarians' Day in Jaipuria, showcasing their creativity and ability to connect knowledge with imagination. They created a magazine with a central theme of "Shaping India's Future," featuring articles on the Reserve Bank of India's role in driving economic growth and motivational quotes about India's progress. Their success not only celebrates their talent but also sets a benchmark for blending intellectual depth with artistic expression, embodying the spirit of Explore, Connect, Innovate.

The celebration beautifully blended academic depth with creative expression, leaving everyone inspired to think differently and appreciate the power of classification in streamlining knowledge.
