On 15 January 2026, the Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow campus came alive with festive warmth as the Cultural Committee, with the support of the Office of Student Affairs, organised a vibrant celebration of Makar Sankranti.

Students, faculty members, and staff came together to celebrate the occasion through joyful kite flying, energetic dance moments, and the relishing of traditional delicacies associated with the festival. The celebrations also served as a gentle reminder of the simple joys that define campus life — moments where traditions are lived, not just remembered. As kites dotted the winter sky and conversations flowed across the campus, the event reinforced the strong sense of community that Jaipuria stands for.

The visuals from the celebration captured the campus at its most spirited, with smiles, laughter, and spontaneous participation reflecting the joy of the moment. Kite strings held tightly symbolised shared excitement and friendly competition, while the clear winter sky became a backdrop to countless candid conversations and cheerful exchanges. Traditional food counters turned into informal meeting points, strengthening bonds over shared meals and stories.

Behind the scenes, the celebrations were equally engaging, with students and staff working together to prepare kites, manage strings, and set up festive corners across the campus. The careful arrangement of til-gud sweets, fruits, and savouries reflected the cultural richness of Makar Sankranti. Informal group moments and photographs captured the ease and camaraderie shared among participants, highlighting how festivals on campus become collaborative experiences rather than scheduled events.

Overall, the celebration beautifully blended preparation, participation, and pride, creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness. It was a memorable occasion that truly reflected the spirit of the Jaipuria family — a spirit that alumni would fondly recognise and cherish.
