On December 11, 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore, proudly hosted an inspiring session on Happiness and Mindfulness by Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Ph.D., Professor, and Director of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur. The session offered profound insights into nurturing happiness, managing emotions, and embracing mindfulness in everyday life.
Dr. Pankaj captivated the audience with his expertise in psychology and behavioral sciences. Through a touching story about the power of perspective, he emphasized how a shift in mindset can turn challenges into valuable learning opportunities. His insights shed light on the transformative impact of seeing life’s hurdles as stepping stones to growth.
The session also introduced the four pillars of fitness—Physical, Psychological, Social, and Spiritual—as essential components of a balanced and fulfilling life. Dr. Pankaj explained how aligning these pillars creates harmony and builds resilience in navigating life’s uncertainties.
Adding a scientific dimension, Dr. Pankaj explained the role of happiness-inducing hormones like oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins. He highlighted simple yet powerful activities, such as mindful meditation, building strong friendships, and pursuing hobbies, as ways to naturally boost these chemicals.
To help participants apply these principles, Dr. Pankaj shared practical tips: practicing mindful meditation for 5–10 minutes daily, cultivating meaningful relationships, engaging in active leisure, and finding purpose through stoicism. His words resonated deeply, leaving everyone motivated to take charge of their mental well-being.
This enlightening session was a testament to Jaipuria Institute of Management’s commitment to holistic development, empowering individuals to lead lives filled with passion, compassion, and purpose.
