In an era where digital interactions dominate personal, academic, and professional spheres, cyber safety has become a critical life skill.

On 18^th July 2025, Media Relations and Communication at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, in collaboration with the India Today Group, organized a highly informative workshop under Project Shield on Digital Fraud Awareness.

The workshop was organized under the guidance of Dr. Abha Dixit (Chairperson, Media Relations and Communication Committee) and Dr. Soumen Bhattacharya (Manager - Media Relations and Communication), and was well coordinated and supported by student team of Media Relations and Communication Committee. Further, the workshop saw enthusiastic participation from both Jaipuria Institute of Management and Jaipuria School, Lucknow.

The session was conducted by Mr. Bal Krishna (Executive Editor, India Today – Fact Check, New Delhi). The workshop focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

Mr. Bal Krishna, with over two decades of experience in broadcast journalism and media verification, led the session with real-life examples, engaging multimedia content, and interactive discussions. He addressed critical digital threats such as phishing, identity theft, fake news, and misinformation; while emphasizing the importance of digital hygiene, critical thinking, and responsible online behavior.

The workshop stood out not only for its informative content but also for the meaningful interaction it fostered. The inclusion of school students ensured that the message of digital awareness reached younger minds, promoting early education in cyber safety. The workshop concluded with a lively Q&A round, where Mr. Bal Krishna addressed real-time queries and shared practical tips to avoid falling prey to online fraud.

This initiative reinforced Jaipuria’s ongoing commitment to developing digitally aware and responsible individuals. By engaging with seasoned experts and addressing contemporary challenges, Jaipuria continues to build a resilient and informed community ready to face the evolving digital world.
