On 9th March 2026, the Operations Club of the Domain Forum Committee at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow organized an engaging event titled “Newspaper Bag Factory – The Process Challenge” as part of Samanvaya 3.0.

The event was designed as a live operations simulation where participating teams assumed the role of production units tasked with manufacturing newspaper bags. Working within defined constraints of time, quality, and process discipline, the teams were required to organize their workflow, allocate roles efficiently, and deliver the required output while maintaining quality standards.

As the activity progressed, participants began identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and coordination gaps within their production lines. The challenge encouraged them to rethink their approach, redesign workflows, and implement process improvements in real time. Through continuous adjustments and collaborative decision-making, teams experienced firsthand how operational efficiency can be significantly enhanced through better planning, communication, and resource utilization.

Beyond the competitive element, the event served as an experiential learning platform that brought key operations management concepts to life. Students gained practical insights into process optimization, workflow design, and team coordination—skills that are essential in real-world manufacturing and service environments.

The enthusiasm and active participation of students made the event both intellectually stimulating and highly enjoyable. Initiatives like these reflect Jaipuria’s commitment to blending academic learning with practical exposure, enabling students to develop problem-solving abilities and managerial thinking in dynamic, hands-on settings.
